Our History

VSC Office and Warehouse

VSC was founded 42 years ago by Frank and Lorraine Kemmer in February of 1982. It began as Videoland, a small video tape rental shop in a 1500 square foot retail location in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

In 1985, the company began servicing schools in the metro Detroit area as a supplier of VCRs and video tapes. Sales to educational facilities grew quickly, so in 1985, the company established the Videoland Service Company as a dedicated educational supply division.

During the next five years, Videoland Service Company grew and became the major revenue source for the company, so in 1990, the retail store was closed, and the company incorporated as VSC, Inc. In 1994, VSC added installation, integration, and design services to complement equipment sales. The company kept outgrowing successive locations, and in 2000 moved into a 16,000 square foot headquarters building in Novi, Michigan.
